Motherhood has been my greatest challenge and joy in life. Nothing and no one can prepare you for how hard it is, yet I wouldn’t take it back for anything. I think my biggest takeaway from being a mom for the past seven years is that you do the best you can, perfection does not exist, and all your kids really need is love and safety! A happy mom makes a happy baby or child! Putting my mask on first, asking for help and not trying to do it all, all at once, is key! When my son sees me happy and thriving, he takes notes from me. I saw a quote from Glennon Doyle recently that resonated so much to how I mother now, “I burned the memo that responsible motherhood is martyrdom. I decided that the call of of mother is becoming a model, not a martyr.”
