Self care comes in many forms these days but creating time to take care of myself mentally, emotionally and physically is a non negotiable for me. More and more the idea of putting my own oxygen mask on first has increased in validity. The further I get from myself, the harder it is to mom, to wife and to work. The extreme burnout I often feel almost always occurs when I haven’t had moments of self care. My current must have moments of self care have become a once a week therapy appointment, doing weight training multiple times a week, daily walks or yoga and a once a month massage. I’ve found that my self care time has to be away from my phone because even things like pedicures weren’t allowing me to destress fully as I had access to work. I’d love to hear all your favorite ways to get in self care!
